On February 6, 2002, the Gotham Center held a press conference on the steps of
city hall to protest the removal of former Mayor Giuliani's records from the
municipal archive. At this time the Gotham center also submitted a petition to
Mayor Bloomberg signed by over 800 concerned persons demanding that the records
be returned to the city.
