The Jersey Boys

I recently saw a movie called the Jersey Boys and thought it was a great movie... good music and lots of old cars brought back great memories. I got to wondering if any on this forum ever personally met some of the top stars from the early Rock & Roll era. I once met Connie Francis when she first started her singing career. She was a cousin of a friend of mine girl friend and she(Connie) and her boy friend drove into Flushing from Jersey to visit. It was a big deal as Connie's songs were on the charts. lots of other friends gathered to meet her and she seemed really down to earth. I always liked her crying style of presenting a song.

Re: The Jersey Boys

In the early 50's I was on a grammar school trip to Idlewild Airport to watch the planes come in. We met Julius LaRosa as he got off the plane (on the tarmac in those days). I wasn't a fan, but he was big on the Arthur Godfrey show & my parents loved him. I "touched" the arm of one of the Everly Brothers after an R&R show @ the Paramount. That gave me many happy fantasies for a while.

Re: The Jersey Boys

My parent loved Everly Bro's. We had all their albums in our house.

Re: The Jersey Boys

Being partial to country music I always liked the Everly Bro's. Their song hit "Wake up little Susie", I would always relate to as I've been there more than once.
