I was sorry to miss the lecture. Just didn't work for me on Valentine's Day!
I am a parishioner at Holy Trinity on East 88th Street bet. 1st and 2nd, an episcopal church built for the immigrants of the neighborhood in 1899. Although we have all our newsletters from the early years (1902-1929) there was no mention of the Slocum. Still, we assume that some survivors who moved up here might have joined our church. I am told that moving from Lutheran to Epsicopalian was common, particularly among the upwardly mobile, or those who wanted to be upwardly mobile. Has anyone tracked individual survivors or family members moving up to Yorkville? I would be interested to check names against our parish lists. Thank you. Let me know when the film will be shown agan.
