Fitch Sanatorium

My Mother was born in Fitch Sanatorium in the Bronx back in 1928. I have been trying to find out information about her Mother, my Grandmother. I have hit so many dead ends with her, and her life is such a mystery. She died at home in 1942, and can find nothing about her, or who her Mother was. I'm beginning to think she was born out of wedlock, (in 1895).  Any idea where the records for Fitch will be found now?
Thanks.
