kay, When I was growing  up it was Macaroni or spaghetti and you bought curtains, shades or blinds.
also I have an" En Suite" which is a bathroom attached to my bedroom . My poor husband doesn't have a " Man Cave". He has our finished basement

Re: modern euphamisms that have found their way into the language

The term "Road Trip".
The first time I ever heard that was late 90's.
I guy at work said he was "going on a road trip" to Virginia. I asked what's a road trip?
Said he and a bunch his buddies were going to take his van with a small trailer for their camping gear. I said oh, so you're driving to Virginia? He said yea.
Hmm.

At that point I had already driven many times to The Catskills, Adirondacks, Poconos, (once all 3 on the same vacation), Saranac Lake, Watkins Glen, Niagara falls, Florida, etc.
All those years I thought I was just driving to my destinations.
I never knew I was going on "road trips". Silly me.

With some of the driving commutes I remember from when I lived on L.I., "road trip" would probably apply there as well.
