Phil Haws

Whatever happened to Phil Haws and his bro Little Red Ray?

He used to work at a beer distributor in Little Neck on Northern Blvd.

He drove that van like he was driving a friggin' yacht. Until one night he ended up sailing it right into someone's house.

He was a good kid, but he was so f'd up.

Bro Pedro

Re: Phil Haws

The Weeping Beech

The Beech was sold in the early '90's(?)-I used to hang out there on weekends when I was in town-I was stationed on a submarine out of New London, Ct. My brother worked the door with Schulzie at the bar. Anyway, I had just gotten back from a six-month deployment in the Indian Ocean, and was making up for lost time that evening. As it turned out, some Kings Point cadets got off the westbound LIRR train in their dress uniforms, and were coming into the bar. I
asked if any were planning on going regular Navy-two said yes, and I replied "Go to flight school-sub duty sucks!" About two years later, I was on a brand new sub in the yard in Groton, and a new ensign reported onboard-we enlisted swine asked him where he had gone to college, etc, and he replied "Kings Point"- I told him I grew up in Douglaston-he mentioned that he went to the Weeping Beech a lot, and he remembers this really drunk Navy guy telling him to stay the F##k out of submarines....

Those were the days!
This had to be either Mike O or Bill B.

Eager for a taco.
