Welcome to Gotham: A Blog for Scholars of New York City History
Dear Reader,
Welcome! The Gotham Center for New York City History is proud to announce our new blog for professional scholars and independent writers. For nearly a decade, we have been featuring short original work by such authors in our "Blotter" — which can all be found here (below), reformatted as posts.
This new initiative, however, will expand the project dramatically. Every week, there will be at least two new posts, showcasing the latest research in the field, with new types of material — like reviews of books, exhibits, and media, research notes, and historiographic discussions. This will be the only digital forum of its kind, and we are eager to make the site a common-place for writers and readers interested in all the different facets of Gotham's rich past.
We are partnering with local organizations to ensure a diverse set of interests, and we invite you to participate! Writers and institutions can submit proposals to the Managing Editor, Peter-Christian Aigner. You are encouraged to comment on the posts, and to follow us on Twitter. We look forward to hearing from you!
