Locust Valley Historical Society

The Locust Valley Historical Society, founded in 1983, is dedicated to the preservation, conservation and interpretation of the history of Locust Valley, including Matinecock, Lattingtown, Mill Neck, and the Brookvilles. In 1995 the Locust Valley Library Board of trustees provided the LVHS with a room on the third floor now known as the “Julia Clark Historical Collection.”

The Locust Valley Historical Collection reflects the collective memory of our community through the generous donations of friends, neighbors and businesses. The collection consists of research files, scrapbooks, memorabilia, books, and ephemera related to the Locust Valley area and community. The Locust Valley Historical Society offers a searchable directory of certain holdings, which can be viewed at the bottom of the “our collections” tab on the society’s website: http://www.locustvalleyhistory.org/our-collection.html
